Scope of Services:  Sims Professional Services has its principal place of business located in Poway, California. Dr. Sims is licensed to practice law in Arizona, but since 2006, he does not offer, intend to offer, or intend to provide legal services or legal advice.  Nevertheless, because he is licensed to practice law, some advertising regulations that apply to practicing attorneys may also apply to Sims Professional Services.  ​The State Bar of California Standing Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct advises that an attorney-owned, non-attorney business should include within its advertisements and business cards a disclaimer that it is not offering and does not intend to provide legal services or legal advice.   Therefore, the following legal notice and disclaimer is provided:

*No attorney-client relationship can be created in communications with Sims Professional Services.

Dr. Sims may perform any service within his competencies that would not constitute the practice of law if performed by a non-lawyer.  In other words, he can perform the same services as any geologist or engineering geologist with a proper professional license, landman, environmental consultant, or other non-lawyer consultant would normally provide.​
